Parallel and Distributed Computing

Pre-requisites:                        Computer Architecture, Operating Systems

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

To introduce various parallel computing approaches, and utilize parallel and distributed computing for solving real-world problems.

  • Flynn’s Classification
  • Shared and Distributed Memory
  • Parallelism in Uniprocessors
  • Data Flow Computers
  • Principles of pipelining

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Parallelism in Microprocessor, Architecture classification schemes, Principles of pipelining and Vector Processing, Array Processors, Multiprocessor Architecture and Parallel Algorithm, Introduction to Data Flow Computers, Introduction to Interconnected Network (ICN).
